DJ Shireen

DJ Shireen is not only popular in Kolkata but also in the rest of the country in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow etc. She was one of the most popular student in school as she has won prizes for DJing, Rjing, Vjing, Acting, Mimic, Rapping, Dancing etc. Not just Kolkata she has won numerous awards in various colleges from Mumbai and other parts of India too. Becoming Miss Mallhar at St Xaviers, Mumbai made her quite popular with the young crowd of Mumbai.

After completing various courses in college like Beautician, Journalism, Dancing, Rjing, etc she realised that she had "gift of the gab" which she wanted to show as an RJ. But industry experts in the city encouraged her to move on take up VJing as her carreer. She started her career in entertainment world as an emcee, where she became a hit with the young crowd. After being a VJ for local Bengali channels she took up emceeing as her profession. During this time she came across many city DJs who saw her interest in music and suggested her to learn DJing.After completing a 3 month DJing course from The Bhawanipur College, she started her DJing career from Underground (HHI Kolkata), in 2005 and then later on played at Incognito (Taj Bengal) and Marrakesh (Kolkata). She then decided to participate in Times Music War of the DJs 2007, (February 2007) where out of 30 contestants she got the First position for the East India finals held in Kolkata. Qualifying into the National Finals (held in Mumbai {Yashraj Studios}) as the only female DJ took everyone by surprise; where total number of finalists were only 7 from all across the country.

She is known for her skills to keep the crowd grooving till wee hours of morning with her Hip Hop, RnB, House and Bollywood mixes. Being a professional Emcee since last 5 years makes her outstanding on the microphone while she spins some of the most happening numbers. Her love for Hip Hop music has also gifted her with the talent to rap which is well seen on Hip Hop nights.
